You can have confidence that your patients will be offered professional and compassionate care while undergoing a termination of pregnancy.

Patients can self refer, or a referral can be sent via Medical Objects to:

To ensure the patient can access the termination in a timely manner, please organise the following investigations:

• US pelvis – to ensure intrauterine pregnancy with gestation < 9 weeks
• quantitative bHCG

Optional:

• STI screening (chlamydia PCR, gonorrhoea PCR on self collected vaginal swab, syphilis serology, HIV serology)
• FBC – if at risk of anaemia

Complications are unlikely following medical termination of pregnancy, however they do occur. The most common complications are retained products of conception and endometritis.
